Kaye Umansky

Kaye Umansky was born in Devon in 1946 and after leaving school, she went to London to train as a teacher. During this time she carried on writing stories and played alongside her husband in a soul band. Her first children’s book, Phantasmagoria, was published in 1986. She still writes music books, along with plays, poems, and picture books – and her hugely-popular novels.
